Hecla Mining Company has submitted a Plan of Operations to the U.S. Forest Service for the Libby Exploration Project, an underground exploration effort in Lincoln County, Montana. This project will collect data on copper and silver mineralization, geology, and hydrology—key steps in determining whether responsible resource development is feasible.
While no mining is proposed at this stage, exploration projects like this lay the foundation for future jobs, economic opportunities, and responsible mineral production in Montana.
