The Montana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors supported a process to interview candidates for the Montana Supreme Court and offer endorsements. As a business leader, we hope the additional information will be of value to you in your decision-making process in the upcoming elections.
On Thursday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m., the Chamber announced our endorsed candidates in a members-only virtual meeting.
For more information on why the Montana Chamber has decided to endorse candidates in Supreme Court races, please read the following editorial from our President & CEO, Todd O’Hair:
Decisions made within Montana’s court system have practical, often long-lasting impacts on our state’s business climate. Montana Justice Coalition (MJC) is a legal reform subsidiary of the Montana Chamber that actively monitors judicial activity that affects business in Montana. MJC’s biennial Judicial Review summarizes important cases and trends in our court system.
Amicus Briefs are legal documents filed on behalf of the Montana Chamber to support specific legal arguments in cases that could potentially affect Montana’s economy.
The American Tort Reform Foundation’s Judicial Hellholes report sheds light on civil court jurisdictions where decisions reveal an unfair bias against defendants, with a goal of advocating for reforms in those jurisdictions.
