The Montana Chamber uses the valuable partnerships we’ve developed with elected officials and other organizations to advocate for Montana businesses. We focus on specific public policy issues that will improve Montana’s economic competitiveness in the marketplace, and thus put our business community in a better position to thrive and prosper.
In 2016, the Montana Chamber of Commerce Board created and launched a ten-year strategic plan that represented the priorities of the Montana business community. This plan identified four objectives to achieve those goals and focus the Montana Chamber’s work: Business Climate. Infrastructure. Workforce Readiness. Entrepreneurship.

Our biennial Montana Prosperity Plan outlines our top policy priorities for the upcoming legislative session. We target issues that have a broad impact across industry to strengthen and grow Montana’s business climate.
At the end of each legislative session, we compile for you the most comprehensive analysis of business and economic issues addressed during that session. You can find out which legislators make pro-business legislation a priority, and where our legislators and governor stand on issues that affect our state’s business climate.
The Business Base (B-Base) is an annual poll of Montanans conducted by research firm Moore Information Group. This report indicates the public’s perception of business, support of relevant policy proposals, and other key data points. This survey helps determine the degree of business-friendliness for each legislative district of the state.
