The Montana Chamber of Commerce is pleased with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Scott Pruitt’s order to end the agency’s practice of “sue and settle.”
Webb Brown, president/CEO of the Montana Chamber, remarked on the order:
“The proactive work by Secretary Pruitt on this issue will bring greater predictability to the regulatory process. The practice of “suing and settling” to resolve lawsuits filed against the EPA by special interest groups would circumvent the process and leave out public participation. This change will improve Montana’s economy and the objectives set forth in our ten-year strategic plan, Envision 2026.”
