HELENA — Heather Palermo of Great Falls, Lindsey Hanna of Bozeman and Jennifer Buscher of Helena will receive a total of $5,000 from the Montana Chamber Foundation’s Judy Martz Women in Leadership Fund after being named the 2019 award recipients.
In October, Palermo will use her funds to attend the Said Business School at Oxford for their Women Transforming Leadership program. Hanna will use the funds to attend the Athena Pack Conference in Montana and to launch a Women Techmakers chapter in Bozeman. Buscher, who works at Shodair Children’s Hospital, will receive funds to become a Brene Brown “Dare to Lead” Certified Facilitator.
The funds will be used to further their leadership skills.
“The quality of applicants is a testament to our late Gov. Judy Martz”, said Kathy Brown, chair of the Judy Martz Women in Leadership Fund committee. “We had a number of excellent applications to review, and the follow-up interviews were rewarding as well.”
The three winners will be recognized Aug. 1 at the Governors’ Cup Golf Tournament Sandbaggers Reception, an event hosted by the Montana Chamber Foundation.
“Judy Martz was a great leader for women in Montana and this is one way we’re proud to honor her,” said Todd O’Hair, executive director of the Montana Chamber Foundation. “The Montana Chamber Foundation would like to thank the many contributors to this fund and the committee members who dedicated their time and efforts.”
The award memorializes former Gov. Judy Martz, Montana’s first female governor. Martz passed away in October 2017 after serving as governor from 2001-05.
