HELENA — Applications are now open for the inaugural Judy Martz Women in Leadership award(s). Applications end March 31, with an announcement of winner(s) by June 1.
The Montana Chamber Foundation will award grants up to $5,000 to one or more women to advance their leadership potential. The recipient(s) will also be recognized at the 31st annual Governors’ Cup Golf Tournament in the Flathead Valley Aug. 2-4. Additional details and the application form can be found at www.JudyMartzFund.com.
“We are delighted to open the applications for the first round of this award,” said Kathy Brown, chair of the Judy Martz Fund Committee of the Montana Chamber Foundation. “We invite all women to apply for this funding and to spread the word about the program in honor of Montana’s first and only woman governor.”
Awards will be made to women for any experience that develops their leadership potential. This includes scholarships for education and professional development courses, as well as conferences and even starting and growing a business, in line with Martz’ involvement in the business world.
The Montana Chamber Foundation announced the award at the 30th annual Governors’ Cup Golf Tournament last August, in honor of the former governor. Martz passed away in October of 2017 after serving as governor 2001-05.
